GOOD RIDING ON METRAKITS
BUT MORE ENGINE PROBLEMS FOR OWEN AT REDLODGE

redlodgerd5
It was a tough weekend for Owen and Dylan in Round 5 of the Cool FAB-Racing Minibike Championship at Redlodge. Owen's recent resurgence was short lived as he suffered more bike trouble, leaving him with only 4 laps of practice on Friday afternoon after his engine seized. It turned out to be a somewhat freakish fault that forced Owen out, a crank stuffer had broken up, leaving melted chunks of plastic jamming the engine. Dylan had been looking quick throughout Friday and on Saturday he qualified in P3 in a very quick and competitive AC40 Pro class. Owen, riding and engine put together out of his top-end and a bottom-end which John O Gorman kindly let us borrow, qualified down in 13th place. Owen showed a lot of improvement on the Metrakit, qualifying in 7th place in the GP70 class and Dylan qualified 11th in the GP50 class.

dylanredlodge AC40 Race 1 saw Dylan get away in 3rd place as he passed Casey O' Gorman, but was in-turn passed by Johnny Garness. Casey squeezed past Dylan into turn 1 on Lap 2 to knock him down to 4th place. Dylan tried to come back at Casey but over did it and high-sided onto the grass. His bike slid into the middle of the track and took out his Moto Rapido Ducati team-mate Ryan Hitchcock! He rejoined the race with twisted bars and forks, somehow bringing it home in 13th place, just infront of Owen who was struggling on the makeshift engine.

Race 2 saw a much better performance from Dylan. He got up to 2nd at the start and was riding well but couldn't seem to hold riders off on the straights, maybe breaking a little early? He came home in 6th place and Owen in 12th. Dylan slipped down to 5th on the first lap of Race 3 after great starts by Johnny and Eddie O'Shea. He was passed on lap 5 by the flying Ross Maguire and then by Ryan on the last corner to leave him 7th and 7th overall on the day. Owen finished 12th again.

racelandgrid This was probably Dylan's best weekend on the Metrakit, he took over 3 seconds off his lap times and had a personal best finish of 8th place. Owen also looked much better, despite an oil spill from his bike sending him out when he was at his fastest and a few gear change problems, he had two 8th places and a 9th.

It's been a difficult season so far, and certainly one of our unluckiest, as we're struggling for reliability, but the boys are both showing great progress in their riding ability so hopefully we will be able to get the two coming together soon to allow us to turn it around and finish the season on a high. Well done to all the riders, there was some very close, competitive racing on display. Thank you to John O Gorman and Justin Foster for the engines and Wiz Racing for the support.

OWEN'S BACK ON FORM AT DAMP KNOCKHILL

knockhillrd4
Owen threw up his fist with joy as he got a 2nd place finish at Knockhill in Round 4 of the UK Minimoto Championship. After a miserable run of results, with his last top 3 finish back in March, he was absolutely delighted to be racing back up at the front of the pack and he also seems to be relishing the damp conditions nowadays. Owen was going well from the off, putting himself in P3 in qualifying, which put him in front of Dylan for the first time in the UK Minimoto Championship this season after Dylan qualified in P4 Read more...

dylanknockhill In Junior B Race 1 Owen got a terrible start, dropping back to 5th behind Dylan and Sandy Horne. Dylan battled away with Sandy, trying to make a pass on each corner as he needed to finish ahead of Sandy to overturn the 2 point gap for 2nd place in the championship. It wasn't to be though as Dylan made a last ditch lunge up the inside of Sandy, turning in too tight and falling off. He rejoined the race just in front of Owen to take 4th and Owen finished 5th.

Race 2 saw Owen take the lead after a bit of a mixup at the start when a jump start was taken back. Some of the riders weren't quite ready as the flag went down and Owen took advantage. He lead for the first lap but he was passed by Ross Maguire, Adon Davie and Sandy, then Dylan on lap 7. Dylan put in his fastest times and chased after Sandy. He pulled back a 2.5 second gap to cross the line 0.2s behind Sandy to take 4th, with Owen coming home again in 5th.

racelandgrid We discovered that Owen's clutch was running too high, we adjusted it for the last race and Owen duly put in his best performance of the day. He stormed into 2nd place behind Adon and began to give chase. Dylan was left battling with Ross and Sandy for 3rd place. Ross defended brilliantly with both Sandy and Dylan pushing him all the way to the finish line, with the trio crossing the line with only 0.4/s between them. Owen couldn't close the gap enough, finishing 1.8s behind Adon, but it was enough to put a big smile on his face as he crossed the line. It was great to see him enjoying his racing again and looking like his old self.

It was a great weekend's racing with lot's of exciting battles on show for the spectators, especially the photo-finish race between Ross and Adon. Well done to all the riders for the brave performances in the wet conditions. A huge thank you to Alan McIntosh for fixing Owen's engine for him, Sandy McIntosh for the advice and help on the clutch and thanks to Trudy Grigor for the great photo's. We look forward to seeing you all again soon for Round 5.

DYLAN BACK ON PODIUM WITH 3RD AT RACELAND!

racelandrd3
Dylan put in a great performance to get onto the podium again with a hard fought 3rd place as TeamMellor returned to the UK Minimoto Championship for Round 3 at Raceland, Edinburgh yesterday. And Owen seemed happier as it looks as though we are making inroads to getting his bike back up to speed. Owen looked to be getting to grips with the track quicker than Dylan, with both boys having missed the corresponding round last year, going 3rd fastest in Q1 and Dylan in 5th in the Junior B class. Then disaster struck in Q2 of the Open class as Owen's engine locked up! It looked like his weekend was finished but he was thrown a lifeline when Alan McIntosh generously let Owen borrow a new engine for the day. He missed Q2 but had done enough in Q1 to qualify 5th, while Dylan got into the groove and took P3 behind Adon Davie and Ross Maguire. Read more...

dylanraceland The first Junior B race saw Owen, Dylan and Sandy Horne battling it out for 3rd place. On Lap 3, Sandy tried to make a move on Dylan, then Owen tried to pass Sandy and the pair got tangled together resulting in Sandy being forced off the track. Owen kept it going and finished the race 4th behind Dylan in 3rd. It was Dylan's turn to experience a bit of mechanical trouble as he set out for the Feather weight class. After the warm up lap he pulled into the pits with brake fluid dripping all over the front wheel as one of the pistons had come out! He was forced to sit the race out as we tried to fix the problem.

racelandgrid As the grid lined up for Race 2, Dylan was still sat in the paddock. We eventually got the brake working after rebuilding it and Dylan started from the pit lane in last position. He was in determined mood and carved his way through the field making his way up to 6th. Owen was having the best race of the day so far as he was riding in 3rd place, doing brilliantly to hold off Sandy. On the final lap, with two corners to go, he couldn't brake quick enough, hit a hole and came flying off the bike. Dylan took advantage and crossed the line in 5th place. Race 3 saw Dylan back on it, putting in his fastest laps and bringing it home comfortably in 3rd place. Owen was a little off pace, we think due to the clutch being set too high, but still managed to finish 5th.

Overall, not a bad weekend, aside from the usual TeamMellor gremlins we seem to have been plagued with this season. It was a great effort from both riders. It was good to see Owen lapping within a second of Dylan again, rather than the almost 3 seconds a lap in the past couple of races. Well done to all the riders, and a massive thank you to Alan McIntosh for saving the day for both boys, we couldn't have done it without you. And thanks for all the hard work diagnosing some of the problem's with Owen's bike :) And of course, thanks to Trudy Grigor for the brilliant photo's she takes for everyone. See you all very soon as Round 4 takes us back to Knockhill.

OWEN HAS POWER STRUGGLE AS DYLAN FLYING AT TATTERSHALL

rowrahrd3
It was Round 4 of the Cool FAB-Racing Minibike Championship at the weekend, taking us to the first new track of the season, Tattershall in Lincolnshire, and what a track it was. A tight, technical circuit with a long, fast sweeping bend onto the straight which had a few bumps so the bikes were taking off as they were at top speed! Dylan had some great pace in the AC40 Pro class, qualifying 3rd. He was unlucky in the races, crashing out in 2 of them. Read more...

Race 1 saw him have a great ding-dong battle with Eddie O'Shea for 3rd place with Dylan passing Eddie in the tight section but Eddie got him back each time on the straight. Dylan tried to get along side Eddie into turn 1 but got forced wide and off the track, leaving him to finish 9th. Race 2 saw him keep ahead of Eddie this time, learning his lesson he defended the line down the straight and was pulling away in the tight section. Johnny Garness was catching him though and, under pressure, Dylan took the corner too fast and slid off rejoining in 7th where he finished. In Race 3, Dylan slipped back 3 places to 6th at the start of the opening lap where he spent the rest of the race fending off Ross Maguire to take 6th which was his best finish of the day.

owentattershall Owen had another disappointing round as we struggle to cure his bike woes. We had the bike put on the Dyno and it revealed that it's running approximately 2 HP below spec, which is a loss of around 25% of the bikes power! This left him running around 2.5s off the pace. We had decided to leave the AC class until Thomas Garness and Johnny Garness kindly let Owen borrow Johnny's spare Blata bike. While it was running quicker than his bike when we popped a 14mm pipe on borrowed from Paul Bannister, unfortunately the rear brake got stuck on, preventing Owen getting the full speed out of the bike. Massive thanks to Simon Mounsey for his help this weekend and for lending us Sullivan Mounsey's spare Tyco Blata fairings to race in too.

Both boys showed a big improvement on the Metrakit bikes with Owen getting to within 1.5s a lap off the leaders pace and Dylan showing some great improvement until he got the final race red flagged after his brake failed, sending him over the tyre wall. Luckily both the rider and bike came out of it unscathed. A great effort from the boys, a lot of work to do over the next month before we return to red lodge to hopefully get the season back on track.

RAIN MAKES FOR TRICKY RACE AT ROWRAH

rowrahrd3
It was a bit of a mixed bag for Owen and Dylan at the weekend in Round 3 of the Cool FAB Minibike Championship at Rowrah. The weekend started well in fridays practice with Dylan showing some good early pace, running about 4th quickest in the AC40 Pro Class on the long, fast Rowrah circuit. Owen continued to struggle for pace as we try to figure out whats going wrong.

Saturday morning brought the forecast rainfall which totally changed the game as far as Owen was concerned. In Q1, Dylan was 4th quickest with Owen in 5th, however, on the in-lap, Dylan decided to try and continue going faster and took the corner too quick, sliding off in the wet and smashing his bodywork. The fall seemed to affect him in Q2 as he took a while to get up to speed eventually qualifying in 7th. Everyone seemed to get quicker in the drying conditions and Owen qualified down in 9th. Read more...

owenrowrahOn Sunday, we had more rainfall which made it ideal for Owen. In the morning warm-up, Owen and Dylan were in the top 3 behind rain-master Ross Maguire, which we put down to changing Owen's carb. In Race 1 Both boys got a decent start, making up a couple of places, then we watched on as neither of the TeamMellor boys came round the top corner. They eventually cam round well down the order, having slid off at the same point. They rode brilliantly, carving through the field, making up six or seven places, with Dylan finishing 5th and Owen right behind him in 6th.

The track began to dry out and caught us out. We changed tyres back to drys but only had time to get Owen's done and Dylan's front tyre, leaving him with a wet on the rear. It was nearly a disaster for Dylan as a bolt wasn't fastened properly in the wheel and another fell out. Luckily, he was saved by the guys on the track who tightened the bolts up to get him back on the grid ready for the off! (thank you so much to all of you). Owen really struggled to get any speed at all, going only marginally faster than his wet times and some 3 seconds a lap slower than Dylan, who also couldn't get up to pace, possibly because of the tyres? Dylan finished in 6th place with Owen coming home in 16th. We tried to sort the bikes out for Race 3, changing Dylan to full drys.

Dylan was back on pace for Race 3, after a bad start, he made his way through the field to have a great battle with Johnny Garness and Josh Bannister eventually finishing in 6th place, which gave him 5th overall on the day. It was another nightmare for Owen as he dropped down the field on each lap, coming home again in 16th. Both boys struggled to get to grips with the metrakits in the wet, having never ridden them in the wet before, they were a little nervous. When the weather dried out they looked a lot better, but definitely more practice needed. Not the greatest weekend we've had this season but hopefully we can put things right ready for the next round.

GREAT 2ND PLACE FOR DYLAN AT KNOCKHILL!

knockhillrd2
Dylan got his first race win of the season and came second overall in the UK Minimoto Championship Round 2 at Knockhill. Having finished 3rd in the opening round at Teeside, Dylan continued his form to go one better after some fantastic close racing with Adon Davie, Sandy Horne and Owen Mellor. Dylan spent the morning warm-up sessions running in his newly rebuilt engine after a gudgeon pin clip had come out and wrecked it during practice at Rowrah. He found it very frustrating to have to take it easy, and Owen was in a similar position while having to run in some new clutch shoes. However, when qualifying came, they both got back on the gas, Dylan qualifying on the front row in P2 along side Adon and Sandy, and Owen qualified on the second row in P4. Read more...

owenredlodgeIn Junior B Race 1, Sandy got a lightning start to take an early lead, with Dylan and Owen following him to pass Adon into 2nd and 3rd. Adon did brilliantly to pick them off one lap at a time under braking into the last turn. Dylan must have been watching and passed Sandy with a similar move to regain 2nd, then Owen took his chance to pass Sandy in the same fashion. It looked to be heading for both TeamMellor boys in podium positions but Sandy had other ideas and grabbed the position back with some last minute braking down the straight, putting Owen back to 4th.

In Race 2, Dylan got a great start and took the lead ahead of Adon. Owen made it past Sandy to get up to 3rd. There were some hairy moments as Adon tried to pass Dylan where he did earlier but Dylan had learned from what happened earlier and kept the gas on as late as possible to deny Adon. Adon finally made the pass with 2 laps to go, going in to turn 1 to deny Dylan his first victory. Owen crossed the line 3 seconds behind to take 3rd place. Adon finally made the pass with 2 laps to go, going in to turn 1 to deny Dylan his first victory. Owen crossed the line 3 seconds behind to take 3rd place.

Owen took a nasty fall in the Open class after Kieron Grigor tried to go up the inside of him, Owen had turned in and Kieron , with nowhere to go, plowed into the side of Owen, sending him flying off the bike. His hip was bruised and he was limping a bit but he decided to get back on the bike to try and get the points.dylanredlodge1 Race 3 saw another fantastic start by Dylan, this time with Sandy getting into 2nd to put space between Dylan and Adon for a couple of laps until Adon passed Sandy to chase Dylan down. It was a tense couple of laps with Adon trying hard to get up the inside of Dylan. He did make it past only for Dylan to do brilliantly to retake the position. Adon made a last ditch attempt to pass into the final corner but Dylan held him off to take the win. Owen rode well but had to settle for 4th which was great considering he was in pain.

The results mean Dylan is in 3rd in the Junior B Championship and Owen is in 4th place. Well done to both boys, you rode great this weekend, and well done to Adon and Sandy for some fantastic racing, it was very exciting to watch. A massive thank you to Alan McIntosh for the great job fixing Dylan's engine, it was spot on. And thanks to Trudy Grigor for taking some brilliant photo's at the round. See you all again at Round 3!

redlodgerd2
Dylan got his first podium of 2017 with a fantastic 3rd in the opening Round of the UK Minimoto Championship after some hard fought races at Teeside Autodrome. The weather was perfect and with a fantastic turnout from the BikeWise Mini Bike Club, there were some huge grids. Dylan qualified 4th in the Junior B class ahead of Owen who qualified in 5th. In the Featherwieght class Dylan qualified 4th and Owen qualified in 6th in the Open class. Read more...

Both boys rode really well, Dylan took a 4th, 2nd and 7th which gave him 3rd Overall after some great racing with Evan Belford. Owen had two 5th places and a 3rd place finish after he capitalised on a high side crash on the final lap by Dylan in Race 3. Well done to all the winners, Sandy "Bullet" Horne and Adon rode brilliantly today. Well done to Troy for a perfect start to his title defence in the Junior A class. We would also like to wish a swift recovery to the few casualties at the round, hope to see you guys back on the bikes soon. MECHANICAL PROBLEMS SLOW TMR BOYS AT REDLODGE

redlodgerd2
It was a tough 2nd Round of the Cool FAB Minibike Championship for Owen and Dylan at the weekend. Redlodge has usually produced some of the boys best performances on the minimoto's, with Owen winning last time out, and we were hoping for more of the same this time. They both looked quick in practice, setting some good times and the bikes seemed like they were running well. They were a bit off pace on the metrakit bikes but improved each time they went out. In Saturday's qualifying their pace was really good int he AC40 Pro class, however Owen was shocked when he saw Dylan qualify ahead of him by 0.3/s in P4, with Owen in P5 on a massive 25-strong grid! It was fantastic for the team however, to see both boys in the top 5, setting us up nicely for the race. Despite some vast improvement on the Metrakits as they began to learn the gears for the track, they both qualified 9th in their respective groups. Read more...

In the AC40 Pro Race one, Owen got a great start, passing Dylan into 4th, with Dylan also losing out to Eddie O'Shea. Owen began chasing the front 3 but couldn't find a way past Jonny Garness, allowing Dylan, who had overtaken Eddie, to close back in on him and eventually pass him heading up the straight. Owen just didn't look like he had the same power as Dylan cruised past him and Eddie replicated the move on the following lap. Dylan looked like he had the pace to challenge for 3rd and closed up on Jonny, only to come off after pushing a little too hard on one of the tight bends, handing the position to Eddie and moving Owen up to finish in 5th, with Dylan rejoining and finishing 9th. On the Metrakits, Owen finished where he began in 9th, and Dylan had a lot of ground to make up after a bad start sent him away in 15th and last place, but he rode well after that getting himself back up to 10th.owenredlodge On Sunday in the warmup, we tried some adjustments to get Owen's bike up to the same speed as Dylan. It looked successful as this time Owen cruised past Dylan. On closer inspection however, Dylan was lapping almost 4 seconds off his pace from the previous race. Dylan's bike wouldn't start after he came in so we cleaned the carb and changed the plug. It did eventually start after a lot of trying and we thought we were back on track.

AC40 Race 2 saw another great start by Owen, getting up to 4th again, there was certainly no acceleration problems. Dylan on the other hand just kept dropping back down the field. Owen rode really well but couldn't hold off Evan Belford as he closed in on Jonny. A collision between leaders Casey O' Gorman and Ross Maguire moved Owen up to 3rd place. Owen was determined not to lose another place on the straight and kept the throttle on too long, running wide in the corner, letting Sandy Horne fly top the inside of him. He was then passed up the same straight as usual by Ollie Walker and Eddie O'Shea. On the last lap, riding 6th, he came off on the same corner as Dylan had earlier, rejoining and finishing in 8th. Dylan came home in a non-point scoring 21st place having lost 4 second per lap in pace. There was another 9th place for both boys in the metrakit classes. It turned out that Dylan's bike had lost compression due to a snapped piston ring. Fortunately Ian Harris had the tools and parts on hand to bore out the cylinder and fit a new piston and ring, getting Dylan back out for Race 3.dylanredlodge1 The final race produced the same scenario, however with Dylan getting away in 5th behind Owen. It was frustrating for Owen as he kept losing ground on the straights, closing back in on the corners again, but was unable to get past Jonny, allowing Evan, Eddie, Ollie, Sandy and Ryan Hitchcock to close in on him. They each took turns to fly past Owen on same straight in consecutive laps, in almost exactly the same place. Then he ran wide on the final corner, losing another place and finishing 8th after losing out to Dylan who finished 7th.

The final Metrakit races saw Owen and Dylan make their best finishes of the weekend with Dylan coming home in 8th and Owen getting a 7th, and Owen also getting within 1.6/s of the fastest lap. The boys put in a lot of effort and their riding was superb, luck wasn't on side at the weekend and we have a few things we need to look at in preparation for the opening round of the UK Minimoto Championship this Sunday at Teeside.

GREAT START TO 2017 AS OWEN GETS 3RD AT LLANDOW!

llandow3rd
It was a great start to the 2017 racing season with Owen getting on the podium as we got underway in the Cool FAB-Racing championship Round 1 at Llandow, South Wales. Both Owen and Dylan were raring to go after their pre-season testing in Benidorm and were looking forward to racing for their new teams, Owen riding in the AC40 Pro Class for Tyco BMW and Dylan riding in the Metrakit GP50 class for Moto Rapido Ducati. The boys were looking good in practice on the mini's and were making good progress on the metrakits, with Dylan's bike undergoing a little surgery on Friday morning to get it up and running. On Saturday Owen qualified 6th in the AC40 Pro's, with Dylan lining up behind him in 8th, and in the GP 70's Owen qualified 8th and Dylan qualified 11th in the GP50's. Read more...

In Race 1 on Saturday, Dylan put in a steady performance, improving his lap times, getting down to 59.8s as he tried to get used to the gears. Owen was really up for the GP70 race, he improved his lap times by over 2 seconds and was battling for 6th place when he overcooked the corner, let the clutch out too quickly and launched himself and the bike across the grass! After spending 3 hours in A&E, it looked as though his weekend was over when we found out he had a small break below his knuckle.dylanllandow On Sunday morning as we watched Dylan go out for the GP50 warmup, Owen said he wanted to try and ride the mini's in practice, but not the Metrakit as his hand was too sore to pull the clutch. So out he went and he still looked on the pace, so he decided to get the all clear from the medic to race. Race 1 saw Owen get a great start, moving up to 3rd. He was passed by Adon Davie and Johnny Garness and Dylan was in hot pursuit having got himself up to 7th. Johnny took a nasty fall into the last bend, getting the race red flagged. In the restart, Owen got up to 4th place when Eddie O'Shea slid off, seeing another red flag. We thought that was it until another rider received a 5 second penalty for a jump start, moving Owen up to 3rd place. Dylan had come off himself and came home down in 15th place.

Race 2 saw Owen get another great start, moving up to 3rd again. The injury looked to be taking it's toll and he began slipping back, finishing where he started in 6th place, Dylan lost 2 places, he had a great wheel-to-wheel battle with Amanuel Minimoto Brinton but couldn't get past, finishing 9th. Race 3 was the same story, Owen getting a flier up to 4th place. He started to slip back again as he was passed by Johnny Garness and Ollie Walker, then Dylan came up along side him, Owen picked his game up and took the position back immediately and began to close in on Johnny and Ollie. As he closed right onto the back of them, Adon was experiencing some mechanical problem and slowed infront of the chasing trio, Owen seised the opportunity when Johnny and Ollie went around the outside, he slipped up the inside and passed them to take 4th. Johnny closed in on him and passed him again on the straight. With Ollie closing in fast, Owen was relieved to see the chequered flag, pipping Ollie for 5th by 0.05/s! It was a hard fought race for Owen but it was enough to get him 3rd place overall. Dylan got his best finish of the day with a 7th, giving him 11th overall. Dylan got his times down to 57s on the GP50's, finishing 11th in the final race after a good battle with Holly Harris and Mason Johnson. A bit more practice needed on the gears for Dylan before the next round. Overall, a very positive start to the season, a few things to work on and we could be in for a very interesting 2017.

3RD PLACE FOR OWEN IN BENIDORM CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

owen3rdbenidorm
We had an amazing week in Benidorm for this years Minibike testing at Finestrat Karting track. Both Owen Mellor and Dylan Mellor got to get to grips with their new Metrakits as well as the minimoto's. We're really excited for this years racing after seeing the progress they have made. Owen impressed with his riding on his Metrakit 70, far exceeding our expectations of where we thought he would be. Looking back, it's hard to believe that Dylan had never ridden his Metrakit until Monday, he was absolutely flying until his bike broke down on Wednesday while he was putting in his fastest times while being shown the way by Lukasracing Se who kindly went out to help the young riders in both Metrakit classes. owenbenimkBoth Owen and Dylan looked fantastic on their Minimoto's too. A massive well done to Owen who was on the podium, finishing 3rd in Thursdays Air-cooled Pro Minimoto class and Dylan who rode brilliantly and finished just behind him in 4th. It was a fantastic day for the Scottish and North East riders, occupying all 3 podium positions in both the air-cooled and Production classes with some fantastic riding from Owen, Ross Maguire with two 1st places, Sandy Horne (2nd/3rd) and Declan Connell (2nd place). Owen qualified 4th in the MK70 and Dylan started 6th in the MK50 class. They both rode really well but we need to practice those starts boys!

We owe a huge thank you to the guys in the paddock for all their efforts in helping to get Dylan back out on track so he could race in the Metrakit 50 class and to Ian Harris for sorting Dylan's brakes out on the mini.dylanbenidormmk Thanks to Simon Whatley for first kindly letting us use

Josh Whatley's spare engine and then Saffron Whatley's Metrakit, Dylan wouldn't have been able to race without you guys. Also a huge thank you to Adam Blacklock for all his hard work putting the spare engine into Dylan's bike (which turned out to be a bit more complicated than we thought), absolutely amazing that he managed it while suffering with a hangover! Thanks to Sarah Harris, Fraser Rogers and Declan Mcgillivray for their advice and help with the racing. Thanks to Paul Beach and Jeff Claridge for their help with the Metrakit setup. It was a fantastic week with some great riding and it was nice to spend some time with our racing friends in the sun. Thanks to Kirk Blacklock for organising the event and well done to Becca Holmes for her great marshalling work, we're all looking forward to next year already.

OWEN GETS 3RD IN WINTER ENDURANCE!

Owen picked up his first trophy of 2017 as we travelled up to Kartstart Kirkcaldy for the UK Minimoto Winter Endurance race. It was a brilliant effort from Owen and his 'Fast Kids' team, Declan, Dylan and Dave, who lead the race until the last 30 mins, then pipping Dylan's 'Champions' team to take 3rd, with Dylan's team 4th. It was a massive effort from Dylan and Jack as the were left 2 team members down, meaning the pair had to double up on their stints, pulling the team from last to 4th! It was a fantastic day with some excellent riding on display and a few crashes, with Owen taking out Dylan (Oops!), Alan taking out Owen, Dylan taking out Deco and Dylan piling into Rory Skinner, who came off in front of him! Thanks to Alan McIntosh for organising the event, it's always a fun day at these endurance races.
